A limited pilot, and what it actually proved
By Jens Bezuidenhout, Founder & CEO2 min read
Before scaling any financial platform, you have to prove the underlying process works. Not in a presentation. Not through a token launch. With a real asset, real investors and real distributions.
That was the purpose of LANDHIVE’s first pilot. It is worth being precise about what it did, and did not establish, because that is the difference between evidence and marketing.
A deliberately small test
Twenty investors participated in a deliberately limited test tranche, with economic participation linked to one apartment within the completed ROX Brighton development.
It was intentionally small. The purpose of a pilot is not to impress. It tests the operational chain. Could investors be onboarded appropriately? Could the legal and administrative structure function as intended? Could property income be recorded and reported accurately? Could distributions reach investors reliably?
What the result does and does not tell us
During its first six months, the pilot made distributions equivalent to an average annualised yield of 8%, funded from rental income and paid using stablecoins.
That is a historical result from a limited pilot, not a forecast, a promise or evidence that the wider model has been proven at scale. It tells us that the machinery worked in one controlled case. It does not tell us it will behave the same way across multiple assets, larger investor groups, and changing market conditions.
That distinction matters. Emerging industries often tempt us to take one successful result and present it as validation of an entire model. But a pilot does not prove the destination. It establishes whether the first steps function as intended — which is precisely what a pilot should do, and no more.
Permission to proceed carefully
It gave us no claim to shout about. It was permission to proceed carefully.
Prove the process before you scale it. Then let the scaling earn its own evidence.
